Ahmad Summer Fruits Cold Brew: The sparkling tea hack you didn’t know you needed

I’ve no problem drinking sparkling water, especially with a wedge of lime. Clean, simple, refreshing. But every now and again, I want to mix it up a bit. Something with a bit of intrigue.

So I gave these Ahmad Tea Summer Fruits Cold Brew teabags a whirl. Caffeine-free, sugar-free, and cheap as chips; they sounded promising. But my first attempt? Underwhelming. The flavour was weirdly sweet but flat, and for something with such natural ingredients, it felt oddly artificial.

Still, I wasn’t ready to give up on a 17p teabag just yet (I was born in Yorkshire, we like to get our money’s worth!).

The sparkling water revelation

The second time around, I had a hunch — maybe I could speed up the flavour infusion with a bit of fizz. So I reached for the sparkling water, dropped in a bag, and… nothing. It just floated nonchalantly on the surface.

That’s when the lightbulb moment hit: I pushed it to the bottom with a spoon and left the spoon in the glass.

Result? Instant upgrade. The bubbles started turbo-propelling through the bag, and you could see the colour shift happening in real time. The flavour? Much more rounded. Less one-note, more layered. A hint of tartness, some gentle berry depth, and even a subtle savoury finish that made it feel far more grown-up than you’d expect from a fruit infusion.

Finishing touch

Drop in a few ice cubes with frozen raspberries. They’ll dance around the glass and amuse you while adding another level of flavour, and an extra treat at the end.

Why it works (and why it belongs in your Reset toolkit)

  • No sugar, no weird sweeteners
  • Less waste than flavoured cans or bottles
  • Just enough ritual to feel intentional, not automatic
  • Caffeine-free, so you can sip all day

Honestly, for the price, it’s hard to fault. And with a bit of technique, it delivers far more than expected.
