Alcohol & ADHD:
A connection worth exploring

If you’ve ever wondered why your relationship with alcohol feels different from other people’s, more intense, more compulsive, more difficult to rein in, you’re not alone.

The link between ADHD and alcohol use is well established but rarely talked about in ways that feel calm, empowering, or grounded in real life.

This page is a starting point for that conversation.

Many people with ADHD are naturally more likely to struggle with impulse control, emotional regulation, and dopamine-seeking behaviours, all of which can make alcohol feel both like a solution and a problem at the same time.

You might drink to relax. To feel more ‘normal’. To switch gears. But it doesn’t always go to plan.

What we’re building here at Alcohol Reset Coach is a safe, respectful space to explore this connection.

We’re developing resources and coaching that specifically address the ADHD-alcohol connection, informed by neuroscience, lived experience, and behaviour change strategies that actually work for neurodiverse brains.

Whether you’ve got a diagnosis, suspect you might, or just relate to the patterns, this is a space for support. Not shame.
